Born in Toronto Canada in 1991 QUANCHE aka Q.che has already seen and been through more then the average person will in their entire life time. Faced with trying times at the tender age of two, QUANCHE’s parents were divorced. After moving around with his then single mother he found himself living on the infamous Vaughn Road; where he would go on to spend most of his life to date.
At 9 years old QUANCHE found comfort and belonging in the world hip hop and has been rapping ever since. Influenced by his best friend Snacks, a young boy from upstate Rochester New York who visited Toronto every summer. He remembers Snacks as a child, always reciting his verses and free styling. Around this time QUANCHE realized his neighbor (Logical Ethix of Stolen from Africa) could also rap. QUANCHE would listen to him practice through his bedroom window, turning his infatuation with hip hop into love. After that QUANCHE began writing his lyrics as a hobby.
As time passed and QUANCHE found himself getting in trouble with the police and not relating to society. He was starting to acquire a lengthy criminal record and had a few brushes with death. That was when he began he to take his hobby to another level. Using hip hop as an outlet to express himself and vent in a constructive manner. Thus saving him from the otherwise inevitable fate of becoming a career criminal. When asked how he feels about having such a hard life and being exposed to so much at such a young age, QUANCHE responds by saying “I don’t dwell on how different my life is from regular teenagers. Everything happens for a reason and I’m sure it will all make sense in the end. All of my hardships in life have just built an even stronger young man and my music will reflect that”.
In the summer of 2005 local artist and entrepreneur Kama aka Kamikaze was shooting a music video in the Vaughn Road community QUANCHE calls home. After the shoot was wrapped up everyone was hanging around and having a free style cipher. QUANCHE decided to exhibit his talent, reciting some verses for his peers. Kama aka Kamikaze being a long time veteran in the music industry approached QUANCHE and let him know his skills were exceptional for someone of such a young age and with no professional experience. That day would lead to QUANCHE’s first professional recording in a professional studio with Kama and Producer Fonz of Dramatic Trax. During that recording QUANCHE really wowed both Fonz and Kama by laying his verses perfectly in just one take. That is something that had never been seen before or after that occasion with a first timer by either of the two hip hop veterans. At this time QUANCHE was signed to Ez-Mak Records and Entertainment.
To date QUANCHE has been featured on a number of tracks and mix tapes such as, VO OV All day, Lock Stock and the Keys to the Range Mix Tape, 88Fingaz:In the Streets Mix Tape and B.A.D.C Underground Railroad Mix Tape. In the summer of 2007 QUANCHE dropped his own street level mix tape entitled: Quanche-The Youngest In Charge. QUANCHE’s debut album “THE PRELIM” is in stores now!
When hearing the life stories or listening to the depth of QUANCHE’s lyrics it’s hard to remember that he is a mare 18 years of age. QUANCHE has exhibited raw talent right from the beginning and as he grows and develops he is becoming what many have already dubbed him as… “The Future of Canadian Hip-Hop”.

K.N.I.C Productions Presents…Gidget /A lyricist, songwriter and MC – Gidget has been blazing on the Toronto Hip Hop scene since 1998. What started as a squad of talented female artists known as K.N.I.C, quickly became the evolution one; which was the relentless indication of her determination, hence the title of her new single “Last Man Standing”. Born in the West Indies and immigrating to Canada at the age of eight, Gidget grew up in the Toronto inner city. At the age of 13, she began writing poetry, which wasn’t a hard transition into writing rhymes. Influenced by artists like Da Brat on her debut “Funkdafied” album, Snoop Dogg on the ‘Doggy Style” album, and Tupac on “All Eyez On Me”, Gidget decided to pursue a career in Rap. Like many other artists who started off by mimicking their favorite rapper, Gidget developed her very own unique sound. Her surroundings influenced her rhymes, lyrics and over all approach in recording and the music industry as a whole. Gidget then began the grind of talent shows, show cases, interviews and networking with other artists to get her name and sound out to the masses. With the success of “K.N.I.C Presents: Gidget & Age”, the then duo’s anticipated mix cd, Gidget got the attention of the The Chronicles.ca, “It’s hard to find females that are actually 100% true to themselves these days…I was lucky enough to experience that in Gidget and Age…they possess a gritty yet conscious formula”. “K.N.I.C Presents…” was rated ‘Replay-able’- 25 out of 30 – one the highest ratings ever given by The Chronicles.ca. They also received acclaim from The Wire DVD – being the only female rap duo (besides another female solo artist) representing for the ladies. But most importantly, the real support came from the Streets. You can hear on songs like, “Money-Murder” and “Wanna Be Kings” that her truthful lyrics and effortless flow make you listen to the story behind the beats. She’ll make you want to dance with tracks like “Bang” and nod your head with the track “Train Him”, where you hear the dominating side of her personality. And to give you a sense of how she was feeling on tracks like “Riding On It”, Gidget says: “It’s just about not turning my back on hip hop. I got people that believe me, so I’m going to spit like everything was riding on it”. As a guest on 89.5 fm, host Nation asks Gidget to describe her flow; she states: “I’m just a voice for all the different types of Ladies out there. I speak from personal experiences and things that happen in everyday life, because of that I’m an artist you can relate to. It’s that hard edge delivery that makes for a unique sound over the beats. The confidence of my voice demands attention and it’s definitely something the ladies and fellas can feel.” If your thinking Gidget is an average, one dimensional female rapper, think again! She has proven time and again, that when it comes to MCing, she’s one to be taken seriously…

“Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness that most frightens us. We ask ourselves, Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, fabulous? Actually, who are you not to be? You are a child of God. Your playing small does not serve the world. There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won’t feel insecure around you. We are all meant to shine, as children do. We were born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us. It’s not just in some of us; it’s in everyone. And as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same. As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others.”
