DEADLINE: SEPTEMBER 30, 2012

  • This program is open to youth, 14 – 18, from the Keele & Eglinton and Jane & Finch communities.
    You don’t have to be in school to be apart of this project.

  • Here is a brief project outline: 
  • - Intro to Multi-Media
    - Black & Indigenous Histories in Canada, The Caribbean & West Africa
    - Storytelling
    - My Medium
    - ACTION! Youth Productions
    - Group Production Previews
    - Showcase Planning
    - Showcase Presentations
    - End of Program Celebrations

We will provide:
- Professional film/video, music & sound productions skills;
- Share stories about Black/Indigenous history and culture in a fun, non-boring way. This project is about you, not us; 
- Bus tokens;
- Dinna (n real good food, from community spots, like Mainsha’s or whatever yas want to eat);
- Two field trips;
- A letter you can present to your school recognizing your completion of the required 40 volunteer hours;
- A $300 project completion honorarium (that will be provided in cash, likely 50s n 20s, lols);- A space where you can be yaselves and talk about what’s really good in your lives;
- And much, much more. 

What you need to bring:
- A commitment to attend the weekly session, once a week, between 3:30 – 5:30pm from October to March
- A commitment to sharing your story (doesn’t have to be ya life story, but something about yaself)
- A commitment to participating in a showcase of all your productions in February
